The best time to book your Wedding Photographer is at least 9 months in advance and here's why:
While it's always great to reach out and book a photographer or any other vendor as soon as possible, it's more important to have the main details set in stone. If you haven't already checked out our blog post about searching for the perfect Wedding photographer, this would be a good opportunity to read about what information you should have at the ready because we will have a lot of information to go through! If you've been following every wedding checklist on Pinterest, usually at the nine month mark you have most of the details set in stone. After you've chosen a date, booked a venue, have a pretty solid guest list and a rough timeline drawn out, that's the time you want to give us a ring (no pun intended).
Why do we need so much information? Out of all the vendors you'll be working with besides the Wedding planner, we are the ones that are with you allllll day long. The less details we know, the less we know about what to expect on your wedding day. In a proper consultation we will cover shot lists, timelines, locations, etc. Having all this information helps us create an accurate schedule of your day and an exact quote.
9 Months before your Wedding is also a great time to schedule your engagement session and send out your save the dates! If you plan on doing an engagement session, you'll want to give your photographer enough notice to schedule the date, edit the photos, and design your save the date cards.
If you've already booked your Wedding photographer and are preparing for your Engagement session, great job! You're ahead of the game.
